David Clarke Rachael Reilly


David Clarke is a fully qualified ASA coach with twenty years experience and has attended many coaching seminars.

For ten years he has been Head Coach of Oakengates SC with whom he has had a lot of success. When he joined Oakengates he took the team from Division 4 to Division 1 in the West Midland Speedo League in consecutive years. Since then the club has been a strong Division 2 team. The club has been the top club in the medal table at the County Championships for three years running 2001-2004.

David has coached many swimmers to County, Midland and National level with great success and also success in the Welsh Nationals with Tessa Murphy who became a Welsh National Age Group champion. Most recently he has seen success at the 2004 Nationals where Alex Hooper became a finalist in two events and is now on the British National Potential Programme.

David has also coached swimmers who are involved in other sporting events like Nick Woodbridge who last year became World Champion in Modern Pentathlon and Sam Hugh who became National TriathlonChampion.

David has also been the Head Coach for the Active Sports camps and been involved in Shropshire county training camps and has acted as Shropshire Team Manager.

A county swimmer in his youth, David still competes today in Masters competitions, last year winning medals at Midland and National Master championships.

 


Rachel Reilly is a qualified A.S.A.Teacher and A.S.A Club Coach and is an Active Sports assistant coach.

She has been teaching and coaching for five years.  Until 2004 she was the pre-senior coach for Oakengates Swimming Club.

Rachel is swimming instructor for the Priorslee after school club and teaches swimming regularly at Telford junior schools.

Rachel has been involved with County training camps and has sucsessfully coached children to junior league final, County Championships, ASA Midland District Championships and in 2005 she has coached Alice Cousins to her National Qualifying Time.  She is proud to have recently been involved with British Swimming's National Potential Programme.
